Product Options If your product includes options that you want to make available to your site visitors, you can define them in the Product Options section of the Add and Edit product settings screens. You can choose to display the options in either a dropdown box or a text field. Click the radio button beside the option you wish to use. In the Label name box, enter the name that will display beside the text box or dropdown box. For example, you might define a Label name of "Size" and use a dropdown box to offer the following options: Small, Medium, Large. Note The label appears on both the product order page and the shopping cart page. Be sure to select a label that will make sense in both places. If you choose to display a dropdown box, you can enter the choices in the Dropdown menu choices box. Be sure to hit the Enter button between each choice. You can associate different prices with the options in a dropdown box. For example, you may charge an additional $1.50 for a larger size. To associate a different price with an option, enter the dollar amount or percentage in parentheses (), preceded by a + or - sign to indicate a discount or additional charge. In addition, you can associate different SKU numbers with the options in the dropdown box. This SKU number will override the SKU number for the product and will appear in the shopping cart. To associate a different SKU number, enter the SKU number in brackets []. The example of charging an additional $1.50 for a large size and associating a different SKU number would look like this: Large (+$1.50) [85436] If you associate different prices with your dropdown list options, the first option in the dropdown list becomes the default selection for the product. If you want to make a selection optional, you should offer a choice of "None" or "Optional" and make it the first choice in the list. You can hide a choice within a dropdown list by inserting two forward slashes (//) in front of the choice as it appears in the Dropdown menu choices box. When visitors view the dropdown list, the choice with the forward slashes in front of it will not display. This allows you to keep the choice for future use. To display the choice again, simply remove the slashes. Notes about the dropdown menu choices
